Brief Introduction of Pin Header Connectors

Pin header connectors are widely used in the connection of PCB boards. It is also known as a universal connector. Pin Headers are generally used together with connectors such as female headers and wire terminals.

Pin header connectors are widely used in electronic, electrical and instrument PCB circuits. They act as bridges between interrupted or isolated circuits and are responsible for transmitting current or signals. They are usually used with female headers to form board-to-board connections, or connected with electronic wire harness terminals to form board-to-wire connections. They can also be used independently for board-to-board connections.

Since different products require different specifications, there are various types of Pin header connectors available. According to the Pin Header connector standards in the electronics industry, they can be classified based on pitch such as 3.96mm, 2.54mm, 2.00mm, 1.27mm, 1.00mm, and 0.8mm, etc. They can also be classified based on the number of rows as single-row, double-row, triple-row, and quad-row, etc. According to the packaging methods, there are SMT (horizontal/vertical) type, DIP (straight insertion/curved insertion) type, etc.

Currently, the main applications of Pin header connectors are computers, electronic communications, instruments, meters, industrial control, program control, digital cameras, MP3, PDAs, as well as various mobile storage devices, DVDs, LCM/LCD displays, electronic toys, etc., providing precise and reliable board-to-board and wire-to-board connections for them.
